Default What are some good, and top Undergrad, and Grad Physics schools?

Hey everyone,

I had just been made fun of about being disabled, and want to attend UC Berkeley for Physics, and was told to go to Stanford because it is the most prestigious out there. Anyway, I have some questions, and am hopeful that I won't be made fun of here since I haven't made a visit to this forum in a while.

I live in PA, and graduated from High School in 2001, but I didn't take any of my SAT's, ACT's, and college courses in school because of having a slight IQ under 70 which is IQ 68. I try to act as normal as possible.

I am planning on going to my local Community College which is Northampton Community College, and the website is Northampton.edu

I want to major in theoretical physics, but not applied physics.

What courses do I need to take in order to get into a good, and very excellent Physics school for Undergrad, and grad? What courses would be required based on my local college?

What are some good Physics schools for theoretical?

Switching from Nuclear Engineering should take care of some of those classes....
What classes did you take for that?

Your best advice should come from your adviser at NCC. You may have to take the SAT's if you have any chance at getting into a competitive college. There are not too many SAT optional technical colleges.

This list may give you something to shoot for: Top Ten Ranked Physics Colleges - The best departments and schools BUT, these are colleges that HS valedictorian's aspire to and often don't get in.

Thank you for that information. I was speaking to Berkeley in email, and they said their physic program is more academic rather than scientific. I was looking for something like an undergraduate degree to learn from that will get me into theoretical physics to study sting theory if I want to go that way.
