How long are college credits good for when obtaing a higher degree of learning ?
Credits were earned while in the military and the American Counsil of Education and the AARTS Transcript.
Military/ACE "transcripts" are often completely worthless. It really depends on the school you are applying to.
I had a job in the military that was very chemistry intensive, my ACE "transcripts" showed that I took the equivilant of Chem 101. However, the community college I went to not only wouldn't accept those credits, it required me to take a pre 101 chem course as it had been too long since I took high school chemistry. Now although that was pretty frustrating, it gave me two extremely easy A's (which didn't really help my GPA as all I have are A's, but it would have been a nice cusion if I ever got a B).
So don't count on your military transcripts being applied to a degree, although that's not so bad as you will breeze thru the classes that are similar.

The "Ten Year Rule", for the most part, is for all courses across the board. But, some credits my expire sooner or later depending on the course. For example, a U.S. History course that focuses on the 1800s will have a really long shelf life because not much in the way of new information will have changed.
But a biology course, say Genetics, won't last as long since new discoveries are being made in a relatively short amount of time from each other and the scope of the course material changes dramatically every five years or so.
So it really depends on the course and how quickly the field/information changes with new discoveries or revelations.
