Hi, I am wanting to finish my degree in business and at the time, I am looking at something that is convenient and that fits with my schedule. At this point, there are only two places that stand out. My first option is a town called Eagle Pass. There is a college there and the classes are really cheap($447). While I know that name is important, i just want the degree. The pros are that the people are nice(I have visited there before) and the classes are cheap. The cons are that the town is very small(less than 30k) and because of that it is hard to get a job.
My second option is to do a degree online through texas a&m. The pros are that I can live anywhere, but the con is that the class is more expensive($780) and since I am not that good at math, i worry about taking an online class which is principales of finance.
So my question is, which is the better option here?
Texas A&M has an online bachelors in business? Are you talking about Texas A&M-Commerce or some other campus? Those aren't the same as the Texas A&M campus in College Station because they are their own schools with their own accreditations. All of the other campuses are unranked or lowly ranked.
Generally, choose whatever is cheaper, as long as it is accredited.
I'm am earning my BBA at a tier 2 state school. It's cheap, I'm learning something, getting a degree...just like you would at a fancy school.
I don't want to boast, but I was offered a scholarship to Brown university (ivy league) right out of highschool. But I didn't take it. Instead I saved my money by going to community college, and now am at a 4-year. I didn't want to pile myself down with debt.
And honestly, I don't think school name matters as much as it used to. I just don't see the reason to spend 5x as much at one university where you can learn basically the same thing at another school.
In your case, both options are relatively inexpensive. I would think the on-campus option of going to college in Eagle Pass would be better. You can make more connections (even though the town is small), and actually feel like you "attended" a university.

Good luck
i dont believe your story. brown wouldve offered you enough financial aid that the cc+ state school option wouldn't have been any cheaper (if this is the "scholarship" you're referring to). if your parents make 100K/yr or less you would have had NO loans at brown. brown does not offer merit-based scholarships.
If you're not going to a prestigious business school, pick one that is fairly cheap and has a large pool of alumni (for connections.)
