I have seen both of these (in bold), especially the latter, having lived in Atlanta. I will agree that they are reasonably scenic. I don't think they push into beautiful territory.
This is what makes this interesting.
Beautiful as in great architecture and set in great/funky college towns. Granted they are not on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, but they look like "real" college campuses. IMO, of course. I remember falling in love with Bloomington after watching the movie, Breaking Away. I liked it better in person. Princeton for example is a bit too precious and perfect, but incredibly beautiful. Some people would feel more comfortable in Athens or Bloomington over Princeton(both town and gown are a tad snooty).

There are no pretentious schools on my list, with the exception of Virginia, which I've come to learn is that way by feedback that has dribbled in over the years. I would not have had enough of a filter and enough of a stiff upper lip for any Ivy, let alone some of these "neat" little private colleges.

I found that the vomit I had to dodge on sidewalks walking around on my tour of UGA a serious detractor from the beauty of campus. Even with a full tuition scholarship to the honors program via the HOPE scholarship, I didn't even apply after my very poor impression on the tour.
The school is actually losing the party school reputation as it becomes more selective. Rumor is UGA will soon join the AAU. Now that freaking Michael Adams is retiring, UGA can make the push to get on the level of UNC and Florida(which is what they want) in terms of research. They use to be the number one party school, then number two...then number five...then 8th.. It's really between UGA and GT for GA residents..unless you can afford OOS or Emory.
Since you're talking about HOPE covering all your tuition I had to comment. Your tour must've been a while back...or maybe you just got unlucky? I wish HOPE still covered everything.

That, and Wisconsin, in the Big 10 are not slam-dunk admits. I think Ohio State is an easier admit and not ranked as highly. I have not seen their campus. The only thing I know about Columbus is what it looks like from I-70.
Add UCLA for Pac 10/12, that is, if you like the campus. It's as selective as Berkeley. The less than 25% admit rate at both is now eye-opening.
It's still a ways off before UGa catches up with GT. It may happen, but it won't happen tomorrow.
