I want to get a GOOD paying job, so no English or history.

I blame my high school for not teaching me about what to look for in a job, such as how lucrative the field is, the job market, etc.

If you are willing to pursue a masters degree psychology can offer you a good job when it comes to income.

It's easy to point blame at the high school and overlook things you (or your parents) actually had control over. Such as choosing that high school over the thousands of others available.

What are your interests?

I like history and English, but I don't want to do them for a living.

I'm interested in computers, but I'm not good at math.

Are you saying I didn't get a good education?

What do you like about computers? Do you have any computer skills that you can leverage? Maybe a technical training program might suit you better?

I'm not saying anything about the quality of education your received. I was just reading into what you said.

I know a little about how to use programs, such as how to unzip files, how to run programs, etc.

How much control does the average person really have over choosing a high school?

Your high school is responsible for teaching you the basic subjects needed to function in society, it is not responsible for helping you find a job or explore options, that should be done on your own or with your local university career center.

Are you guys saying that it's just propaganda that you need an engineering degree to be 'successful' or 'valuable to society'?

I'm saying my high school should have taught me about job markets, starting salary, etc.
