I know a woman who spent four years in pharm school getting her Pharm.D....after spending 5 years getting her bachelor's degree...and she works 12AM-8AM at Walgreen's. She loathes it. She makes $95,000 a year which is a very good living...but I make almost that much and I work 9-5 and don't have to deal with a-hole customers. Plus I get to sit down.
That is retail pharmacy. There is also clinical pharmacy and hospital pharmacy.

I would rather be a vet. You have much more control over your career, but it depends on your personality type as well. Someone who wants to run their own business and set their own hours should go into the vet field. If you prefer to work for an employer, go the pharm route. Veterinary medicine can be quite lucrative as it is primarily a cash business.
