Some schools will grant an academic reprieve for one semester but it is going to vary by school and there are all sorts of stipulations that must be met. Plenty of universities will admit you on probation if you have bad grades from the past. Then once they see you are meeting their requirements they will lift the probation. As I mentioned before, I've worked in an admissions office at a university. Believe me it happens all the time. And yes, the financial aid department and admissions communicate. People go back school all the time with bad past GPA's and go on to graduate and be successful. You really just need to discuss this with an admissions counselor at the school you are interested in attending and see what they can do for you.
You can probably start over and pretend you never went to the other school, but that course of action may come back to haunt you someday. For example, you may later apply to graduate school of some sort, and will have to answer questions about all the schools you ever attended. You don't want to lie about that.
can my child(ren) start at a new college as a freshman if the cc messed up their classes and pulled them out in middle messing up their gpa.....happen to both of them and as of right now they are still qualify for the full fafsa.... one missed a yr in college another went one yr a complete chaos there....but they both want to start over at new college as freshman with transfering the credits is it possible for them to do that?
