Have you talked to the registrar's office or anyone else there? It really depends on the school. You can quit anytime it's just a matter of how much money, if any, you will walk away with. You may still owe for the entire quarter depending on how far along you are.
For my school (private) we had until a certain date to drop out if we wanted a full refund. And we still lost all the fees we paid.
My wife went to a school that started new classes every 6 weeks or so. Very accelerated. She dropped before she started the next section and they still tried to charge her for the next one. So make sure you talk to someone who can tell you exactly what you will walk away with or if you will still owe money.
Considering you are already 8 weeks in I imagine you will pay for this entire semester regardless if you drop or not. But talk to someone now before they start charging for the next semester.

No not yet. My Composition 1 class is it's eight week. My Intro to Criminal Justice class is on the 2nd week. My desire is to transfer to another college, will I be able to transfer my financial aid. The reason I am asking for help on what to do here is because ITT-Tech likes to try to hold people and their funds and I am not an expert when it comes to this. I just want to transfer to another college, I am not trying to get refund on the tuition I paid ($487) out of pocket. I only completed "one" class and that was my Strategies for Learning in a Technical Environment class with an A. The other two class I haven't even completed 10%, I just clicked and looked in them.

I had a friend that graduated 5 years ago. He did a different program, computer technician, when he was done, they never helped place him, kept giving him the run around. That was one of the big features they always advertise. I'm not sure how they are now

Never attended ITT, but I am curious as to what you want to do with a CJ degree? Their are many options in this field and more often then not a CJ-specific degree is not required. It is possible that you might be able to attend a community college and save yourself $20,000 - $30,000 (maybe) and still end up working in your desired field. No matter what college you go to, the best thing that you can do for yourself is research the heck out of all of your options. Personally I do not give a rat's behind where you go to school, it is your money and business.

Anyone with a two-year degree can teach at a CC, but they can only teach non-transferable courses, most, if not all, of which are vocational.

I'm now working as a Senior drafter for a large accoustics firm who are nationally reknown. I make $55,000 a year. In three years I've worked myself up from a tech grad to where I am now and because I worked hard, and studied hard I have proven my worth. I'm also going back to school for the Construction Mgmt program which my company is paying for because they see my potential. After I graduate, I will be the head of the drafting and engineering dept. I think a lot of people posting here have a chip on their shoulder about ITT because they don't have the will and the integrity to put their best out there. You can't sit around waiting for the perfect job to drop in your lap. And you can't blame ITT for the market not being hot for your area. You are responsible for your education and for what you do with it. I worked hard in school, I had good teachers who cared about my success. And now I'm in an excellent position because I applied what I learned and I made myself valuable.

I have a friend who graduated from Argosy about four years ago. She was in the Vet-Tech program. The main reason that she went there was because they promised to help her find an internship and with job placement after graduation. The school did neither. She actually liked her classes and was pleased with the overall education (she dropped out of UMD, so she does have a 'real' college to compare it to) but she would not recommend Argosy to anyone; even though she got what she wanted in the end (a decent job in a Vet clinic).

How would you know any employer spit on degrees from places like that. That is your opinion unless you have a degree from there. It is an Accredited Associates Degree with relevant curriculm to todays world, unlike community colleges where you have to take gen eds like women in government before you can even start taking courses in the associate degree program you signed up for.

I highly doubt TayJuan is an actual student or she would be able to ask someone there on how to drop. As far as the criminal justice program goes, go in and talk to an admissions rep there. They will show and tell you all the info you need. They CANNOT give you false information or they are putting thierselves in a huge lawsuit and for over 40 years they have been in higher education with a great reputation. These are just a bunch of people that probably expected them to do their homework, go to school for them and to actually go get a job for them by doing the interview. They are a nationally accredited college and with every college it is up to the recieving institution whether they will accept the credits or not. Good luck.

My older brother went there for computer networking in upstate NY and he really liked it. It's a bit expensive, but I think he got a lot out of it and they really helped to push him along and helped him out a lot too both academically and financially (before ITT my brother had flunked out of two other colleges).
Personally though, I think they're ridiculously expensive, the credits don't often transfer anywhere else, and you can get the same kind of training and experiences elsewhere (and probably for less).

I have been a student of ITT Technical Institute for 3 years now and will graduate in another year with a Bachelors in Information Security Systems. I have to say that when I started this program I thought it was the biggest mistake of a lifetime but soon realized that it was the staff that was bad not the curiculum. I have seen the firing of deans and other faculty and must say that this institution is hell bent on having the right people in place to teach the students and if the faculty or professor is not then they are gone and I have attended two other intstutions and I have never seen that done whether the professor was good or not. I have seen much worse that ITT and do believe that if it wasnt for them I wouldnt have the great job I have right now and im not even done yet so do the critics say to that. I feel that you will experience faults at any college institution and its all in how you handle it and how you present yourself to get ahead and another person can not dictate your future. In most big universities its who you know and how much they like you and with ITT they are trying to help you find employment for neither of the above reasons but it makes them look good when you become employed coming right out of school and thats a WIN -WIN situation if you ask me.
I dont think all of the curiculums are for the markets you are in like for example the Criminal Justice Program, why in the hell would you go to a technical school for a non technical trade?????? These are the people complaining about the school when they are the ones that decided to go to a technical school for something that was not technical at all and thats stupid if you ask me. The computer , electronics and CAD programs are the best programs to take at ITT Tech and everything else is garbage. I have had worse experiences at larger institutions which I have attended and I have come to find that its all what you make of it
