I will be applying to OT programs this summer and have so many options that I need to cut down...
My fiance and I are both from a suburb near Chicago, but we would ideally like to move. However, I really like Rush and UIC so I'm not sure if we should wait to move out of state until I'm done with school.

Opinions on the schools and locations is appreciated

Illinois:
Rush
UIC

Colorado:
Colorado State University (Fort Collins)

Florida:
Florida Gulf Coast University (Fort Meyers)
Nova (Fort Lauderdale)
Adventist University (Orlando)

Apply to the schools with the lowest cost of living.....and/or in an area where you want to live when you graduate. They will have a local pipline for jobs...

Are you an excellent student with a good chance of being accepted everywhere you apply? I live in south Jersey and applied to every school in NJ, Pa, Maryland and Virginia. I got accepted in Philly so was able to commute, but IMO better to apply to many and then see where you get in before deciding. be aware though that some of the schools made me come in for a personal interview, though, so I had to go 4 hours to Virginia for that. See where you get in, compare the costs and whether you'll get any financial help from the school, then narrow down from there.

You might like Ft. Collins (aka Ft. Fun). You will have a hard time finding a job there when you're done, but there's always Denver.

Worked at Rush years ago and took classes at UIC - that said, the program is expensive, but these 2 schools are excellent. Wait until you finish THEN move
