There are many jobs for computer science graduates. These include everything from finance, to IT, to engineering and design. There are a much smaller selection of computer science jobs, however.

Computer science is a degree that employers accept for many different kinds of jobs. I listed some above. You aren't limited to working in computing sciences with a computer science degree.

That being said, most companies do not do computer science so they don't have computer science positions. It's not a field that is universal among employers like accounting, marketing, IT, etc.

So, if I got a bachelors in Comp Sci, youre saying it could qualify me for any of those jobs?

Lots of jobs for those that have experience.

Find a particular niche and focus on that. Databases, web programming, data mining....what is your focus.

Make sure to setup up as many internship opportunities as you can. Network with your college and professors.

Complete as many projects as you can inside and outside of the classroom.

There is a lot of competition out there, but also a lot of money to be made.

JohnT16 :

Why

do

you need so many threads, practically asking the same questions in various ways ?

Computer science degree is kinda used in many different career options. It's a good degree to get if you're on top of your course work. Just like how Goldman sachs hires Engineering degree holders. You obtain a math related degree that's respected. It'll open doors for you.
