No, I don't know what "Land Grant" means.
No, I know what the term means but it doesn't influence my decision in choosing a university.
Yes, I know what the term means and it does influence my decision in choosing a university.
Which by the way, I attended, and DD now attends a land grant U. But that wasn't the deciding factor. Unless you consider that university wouldn't have been there otherwise.
I got intrigued by this because North Dakota State University has a tv ad that spends several expensive seconds focusing on the written phrase "land grant" on tv stations in nearby states. And I thought to myself, why on earth would a university bother to advertise "land grant" status? There are so many other phrases they could have chosen to focus on. But someone on the ND forum said that NDSU is very proud of their land grant status. But there is a land grant university in almost every state, so who cares? Especially young people going into college. My bet was that most of them don't even know what the term means. But no one is admitting to ignorance in this poll!
All you lurkers, I've come to believe that you don't know what it means, you just don't want to admit it!
I doubt if anyone, anywhere, would care. How would Land Grant be a factor?
