Computer Engineering, Computer Science, EE, there are a lot of relevant degrees and the offerings vary by school. Probably the best thing to to is look at one particular school and compare them.

My advise is to come in as another major that is not direct Computer Science. This way you can get away with some things. Also being nice is an plus. However some professors shows no mercy. This is the big one. You can't fakk it up.

Because I feel my information is not free. that is it. You love the world you will not see it. This is an major for the nerds of nerds who have no life or little life at all. It is not theater or television. No joke so do

Again I have other suggestions. Electrical Engineering will not allow you to program. It is the most difficult major to master. Your going to be in math insanity.
Just in case someone is misled by this post: computer science is not an add-on for mathematics. While schools do not have uniformity in their academic departments, at most schools computer science involves the study of theory and applying it via programming projects.

Typically, a bachelor's of science in computer science will be the appropriate degree for someone interested in programming software for a career.

It was a room full of nerds all scared of failing. Mostly the Asians and Orientals was passing. A few Europeans ( Whites ) and one black guy ( who is an surgical major ). Computer science students was originally CHEMISTRY MAJORS. Be aware this is no laughing matter.

I took theater alongside this. Two different worlds. Different kinds of people. The best students are ones who have been studying since they were in eight grade. Seriously for serious students.

There is a major called Chemical something. Again you have no friends then these kinds of things are for you. I was one of the last batch of students. The professor knew I was going to fail. So he sent another professor to administrate the test. I shouldn't have failed. I am like three classes from graduating and two classes from learning the whole thing. Even so you need to learn UNIX, Java, ASM, and be prepared to jump programming languages.

I think this post was very informative. Not accurate at all but a good insight in how non-engineers perceive engineering.

My favorites, be nice and you won't have any friends. Thats gold Jerry. Gold!
