I've bitten my tongue and did it to get a good grade, but I did not like it. Also, more than half of the events on campus are held specifically to bash conservatives and the "alternative right" movement. There are socialist, borderline Communist, speakers all the time, and I once had to attend a mandatory rally for one class where a speaker said, "Guys, what we all need to realize is that people who say they support Donald Trump really have no facts or evidence to back it up and are just saying it to be different." I've bitten my tongue and kept my mouth shut for the most part, but have had 2 people stop speaking to me altogether strictly because of the fact that I am a Republican and don't support feminism, but rather plain old equality. I will more than likely not be here next year for unrelated reasons, but I'm just wondering if parents agree that this stuff should stop at LACs (because whether they realize it or not, there are Republican students) or if they think it is okay.

In my experience the phrase 'shoved in my face' is almost always nonsense. It reminds me of the endless prattling about gays 'shoving it in our faces' - which invariably means nothing more than gays refusing to remain closeted.
I wonder if you'd be similarly bent out of shape over, say, the prevalent attitudes among the staff of the Air Force Academy? Which, by the way, is not some private institution free to do what it pleases but an institution funded by you and I and the rest of the American taxpayers. (actually, I don't wonder - if you attended the USAFA this thread wouldn't exist)
'borderline communist'? Do you even know what that means? I seriously doubt you've heard anyone talking about one-party states or establishing a dictatorship of the masses. But the silliness of the assertion speaks volumes.
Maybe Liberty University would be a better fit for you...
