Since you're in ND, I'll respond to you which could also be the response to all other replies on this thread; the oil and gas technician degree/training required no "boarding exams" upon graduation and or when applying to get the job the way a nursing degree does. That's why I was asking this question since the oil and gas tech degree required no "boarding exams", I thought the school offering the degree is just trying to take students' money. But I guess I got my answer from all the responses I got.
