How geography affects economics and economic development can be a fascinating subject. The field of geography is much more diverse than many people realize. Geography can interface with anthropology, for example: the geography of ethnicity, how different cultures adapt to different environments, and the economic or subsistence activities that result from that adaptation. This is a valuable background to have, for certain types of non-profits, environmental organizations, and government or semi-government aid agencies. There are topics there, that could be taught at the Community College level, where an MA is all that is required for a teaching position.
