I didn’t have Google either, but I had detailed information about number of jobs, number of graduates, starting salaries, etc. for the prior ten years.
Information WAS available in the pre-internet era. . .
This isn’t about “beating” anyone. It’s just strange that you would use the non-existence of the internet as the justification for not researching a long and expensive process, to make sure that the job prospects and expected rewards were sufficient.

It was NOT expensive, because I got paid. It was 4 years. I was in between careers and didn't have a better idea right then.
I don't care if you think it's strange. Also, I had wanted to become more educated for a long time, and that was my chance.
Your previous post implied that you had no opportunity cost associated with pursuing your degree.
The “cost” of something isn’t limited to what you pay for it.
It cost 4 years of time. I could have been making more money that 4 years. But I was learning things I cared about during that time, so big deal, you seem to think it was a horrible waste, but I don't.

I can't imagine anyone in real life talking to me the way some do here at CD forums. In real life, most people are polite. Or else they are your friends. The ones who try to insult us are the ones we avoid.

Why is it so different here?
I get it. This thread didn’t go the way that you thought it would, but get off the victim train.
