None of my professors cussed like sailors, but I was very disappointed in one professor in particular. I missed a class and emailed him to check on the reading that I would have to do before the next class. He sent me the nastiest email back, telling me not to email him when I choose not to come to class. I almost sent him a response, telling him to kiss it, but I decided not to The next class, he came over and gave me a high five. I must've given him the look of death or something, lol...several months later, I was the only person in that entire class to walk out with an A. How bout them apples???

I always feel it's their class. As long as I learn something, I don't care if they curse or not.

I think it's completely unprofessional and discredits their worth as a professor in higher education.

Doesn't bother me...I've never had a professor who does a lot of cussing. It just doesn't phase me if its every now and then.

I was told once by a friend that teaches freshmen lit that he curses on purpose the first few classes. He finds it's one way to demonstrate to the new college students that they aren't in high school any more. Since some of the topics that will be covered during the semester may include adult content/language, he figures if he shocks them earlier enough in the class, they can concentrate on the literature when it's time for discussion instead of the language.

professors are adults talking to adults so they do not mince their words.

like I said it's trailer trash to cuss frequently, professor or not duh. Why do you defend somebody's low class behavior....don't you understand that education is supposed to be dignified and sophisticated not trailer trash especially if you are paying thousands of dollars for it...I must be the only classy person with common sense here...

It depends.

If it's angry, then I don't like it.

If they brush up against being a stand-up comic, I have found it funny. (There are people out there with great pedigrees that have a wicked sense of humor and the classroom can be their soapbox).
