A Yeshiva University professor left two years ago as a man - and returned last week as a woman.
Literature Professor Joy Ladin, formerly known as Jay Ladin, 47, showed up for her first day of school sporting pink lipstick, a tight purple shirt and a flirty black skirt.
lol, I had a coworker who was named susan. one day we were talking in the break room and some how she told me that she doesn't have eggs. I was like, "what do you mean you don't have eggs, your a girl." Then she was like "I was born as a guy and had the surgery plus estrogen shots." I just thought to myself, "WTF."
If he would have never told me I would have though he was a girl.
Big..deal? I really don't see why this is newsworthy.
Exactly. If I pay for a college class it's either because it's a mandatory class, or it's something that I want to learn. Outright, I could care less if the instructor was even a three headed alien from Alpha Centauri as long as they taught what I needed/wanted to learn and they stayed on the subject. In otherwords, I'm paying money to be able to pick the brain of the instructor. Who cares what their bodies look like since I'm after their brain.
There are MANY brilliant people of today and long past that were transgendered, or even transsexual. This is not a new phenomenon. It's just that people today are more open about this sort of thing. artsyguy, no offense meant toward you, but your attitude (as a gay) toward the transgendered community is so common. Why the prejudice? For the record, I (like most if not all the TG community) feel the 'T' needs to be dropped from the 'GLB' acronym as being transgendered/transsexual is not a type of sexual orientation.
I think it's fantastic that she has finally decided to be true to herself.
You go, woman!
