Default What generation college student / graduate are you?

...and what year did you / do you anticipate getting your bachelor's degree?

I personally am a first generation college student, and plan on getting my bachelor's in 2010 and hopefully my master's or Ph.D beyond that.

I got my BSN in 1971 and my MSN in 1973. University of California Santa Barbara. My parents were hill people from The Smokies. No chance for them to go to college. They barely went to high school as it was 5 miles of hills and hollers from thier home. I went to Vietnam in order for the Navy to help me pay for school.

All four of my grandparents graduated from college, two of them attained Master's degrees. Both of my parents graduated from college, and all of my siblings and I have Master's degrees. We've been very fortunate in that realm. Education is highly regarded in my family.

I got my BS in 1974. My parents didn't go to college. One of my grandmothers went but didn't finish.
My older daughter went and didn't finish. She's regretting it now, so maybe...
My younger daughter has a MS in Occupational Therapy.

I got an AS degree in 2001; and will be getting a BA this spring (2009). Neither one of my parents have college degrees and two of my Grandparents did not finish high school.

Of my 4 sisters, the oldest is 19 so none of them have degrees yet. The 19 year old is in college now...although she still has not picked a major.

1977 BS Ed.

You don't have my category-neither parent but both grandmothers, one was a teacher, the other a nurse. One was born in 1882, the other 1891.

1983 BS Chem, 1991 PhD Polymer Sci and Eng

My mom finished high school, my dad was working on a BS Chem Eng when the WW II broke out in the Philippines. He fought alongside Americans in Bataan.

All my siblings have college degrees. I got myself out of the Philippines and to the US, where I got my PhD.
