I lived in E. The folks in the housing dept. must have felt bad for me and put me in the brand new dorm right in front of Death Valley sophomore year. What a world of difference!
Oh yeah, I loved those aluminum walls...that crusty, moldy, stinky bathroom too where guys would come in from partying on Friday nights and vomit in the sinks and the janitors wouldn't come back in until Monday so we all got to witness the art of decomposition before our eyes. Interesting stuff.
One night, things were starting to quiet down and all of a sudden, someone shot firecrackers down our hall. I guess I did live the Johnstone experience that everyone told me I'd love

The City of Tallahassee isn't too bad and has some character, but I thought FSU's campus, which is buried in the center of town, was merely mediocre for a large state university. The new Doak Campbell Stadium helps a lot. In contrast, the University of Georgia has a much nicer campus.
Go Noles!
I know it isn't a state university which I suppose puts it in a very different category, but it is a sizeable private university, and of the many college campuses that I have toured, I think that Cornell University has the most beautiful campus. Cornell is located in Ithaca, New York, in the Finger Lakes region and is right at the southern end of one of the lakes. It's an area with many hills and deep gorges. The campus is beautful and has some very nice buildings. Of course, it's also a wealthy ivy league university.

University of Colorado-- Boulder, hands down the most attractive campus anywhere. Beautiful Italianate-style buildings, greenery, trees-- even in the winter it is beautiful. The flatirons are there right in the backdrop.

Nope. That's my alma-mater and I think it's exaggerated. UT-Austin, University of Oregon, and a lot of the fancy East Coast schools are the prettiest.

Michigan St. might have the most attractive campus in E. Lansing but thats about it. Wisconsin has the most attractive campus not only in the Big 10 but the nation.

Can we name one outside the US? If so, I'd say Oxford.

You're only partly right - it's especially beautiful in the winter. LOL!
Actually, St. Olaf College in Minnesota has a look that says "college". Plus, Northfield is a cute little college town.

I went to U of Oregon, and agree it's a beautiful campus... one of my other alma maters, University of the Pacific (in Stockton, CA) is also really pretty, and very east-coast in its style - mostly because it's such an old campus. They actually used it in a few movies, most notably "The Dead Poet's Society" and "Dead Man on Campus". Here are a few pics (sorry, have to post links since I'm on a work computer):
