Is it worth taking a human resources class or not for graduate school? Or is it better to skip on it?

It's worthless.

Take a real class, something analytical like financial modeling.

I'm not trying to be obnoxious, but what do you do in an HR class or program? I keep seeing graduate programs offered, and I honestly can't figure out what you'd learn. Isn't it just filing or filling out forms?

I just never thought of it as a job that required a graduate degree...

I would say this depends on your major and what the other choices are. I think it sounds interesting.

I'm not getting a degree in human resources. I'm thinking of taking a class in it.

I know, I just figured I'd ask in case anyone knew. I'm similarly curious about paralegal programs, since where I work a "paralegal" is someone fresh out of undergrad who just assists the lawyers while they decide whether or not they want to go to law/grad school.

What sort of stuff does the class involve? Hiring practices/procedures?

If you can take something like EMployment Law, that would be beneficial for everyone but you might have to take HR Management first.

It totally depends on what you are going to do. HR Management would be very beneficial IF you plan on being some sort of manager or supervisor. I think a big divide exists between HR and supervisors because supervisors don't understand what HR does and why they do it - whether it is to save on costs or because of the law. Actually any employee would benefit from that information so that they realize that HR is not "evil". So in that aspect it would be very beneficial. What is your major then?
