There is a big problem in math education in the US, big!

My mother got an associate degree in Chinese literature or something in China. When I was in middle school, she checked my math homework and helped me with difficult problems. She was in her 40s!

There are people in this world much better in math than others, the ones good in math become accounts and the ones not DON'T. I am FIVE ZERO-50 YEARS OLD and I can not find a job in this country which is my country. I have searched for almost THREE-years and still no luck. My time is running out. I do not believe that I will ever find a job again, are there any helper out there with real help and I do not mean the type of help that suggest how good a parent of theirs is in math because all I know is that I am not and that's really all that matters, I need HELP!! In finding employment in Milwaukee WI

My approach with the GRE was to study hard for the logic portion. I am an engineer so I aced or nearly aced the math section. I figure I either know or I don't know English but I probably will do "good enuf" on it. However, the logic section is tricky and requires practice. You have to be able to quickly model the question so you can figure out a solution. You can't "wing it".

Something like, seven people are sitting around a table, Mary is Steve's sister, Steve is four years older than Fred, Fred had an affair with Gina who is wearing a green dress...What is Bill's dad's name?
