Default How to use grants to make college payments?

I just receved my semester balance. However, I have received an estimated amount of $ from federal and state grants. In the applied amounts category...I have $0. I'm like what does that mean? How do I use these grants to make payments for college?

Check with the business office at your school. It seems to me like my grants were never applied until the term began.

How do the grants get applied? The amount I have to pay is pretty low after grants are included.

my grants all get paid directly to the school. however, when I look up my fin aid info, all my fin aid info says "pending". won't post until the fall semester actually begins. assuming you are indeed talking about aid for the fall, I'd probably just wait until it officially starts (though it NEVER hurts to ask at your school's fin aid office)

This amount should be included in your total financial aid package and should be directed to the university you will be attending and deducted from your tuition total.

Exactly right. When we get our fin aid statement it will start out with itemized costs for tuition, room and board and activity fee. The next line will be the grants and then the final line will be the costs minus the grants leaving us with the amount for us to pay. We pay tuition in 10 payments per year automatically deducted from our checking account.

Usually your financial aid will disburse after classes start either the first or second week of school.
