fierce_flawless, I know its been a while since this thread had any life in it, but I was just reviewing it because my husband has officially "gone back to school" - he began the prerequisite courses for the program he has chosen. It is at a community college and at the moment its only a few classes, but next fall the actual full time, day time program begins for 2 years. We are in the process of applying for scholarships (I guess someone at his school will contact him, he filled out some scholarship form) and have applied for the FAFSA (Stafford) but thats not processed yet. He is not eligible for the Pell I think because he has a Bachelors already and is going back for an Associates. Anyhowwwwww, long story short, may I please ask you, when you refer to "grant" and even the scholarships you refer to, are you able to tell me a little more about those? Are they grants specific to your age or choice of study? Are the scholarships ones that the school found for you or that you sought out? We are hanging in there now because he is still at his job days, but next Fall it all changes and we will need to do make ends meet somehow with him working only maybe a part time and me finding some way to bring in money - hence hoping for something like you describe where the grants and loans and scholarships amount to enough to get by. I appreciate your help, just curious about these grants and scholarships. Thank you!

p.s. Is INFP your personality? Im an ENTJ!

Go to the hospitals in the area to see if they have a tuition reimbursement program. My employer will pay 80% up to $5000 a year toward a nursing or radiology tech degree tuition and fees or $2800 a year toward tuition in other programs. There are a lot of people who get jobs working in the cafeteria or environmental services just to get the tuition reimbursement. They work evenings or weekends and go to school in the day time.

Be careful borrowing money to go to school. Make sure that you can pay it back in a reasonable amount of time.

Bumping this hoping fierce_flawless will see my last post. I could really use some insight as to grants and scholarships if she or anyone would be so kind, thank you.

Also, Sean, thank you, I never thought of that idea. I know that some schools in another city that a friend is attending get full scholarships from the hospital if you work there, I am going to call around here tomorrow, thank you for the idea.
