Anyone taken the GRE this fall?
I will be taking it the end of this month. Been studying since June and feeling not so bad about the whole thing at this point. I've been out of school since 1985 but would like to return for a master's. Hope to totally ace the verbal & do my best on math for the score I need.
Was just wondering how it was on the written parts in regards to time.

Um I hated taking the GRE since it was all online. I was used to paper tests and being able to see all questions before taking the test. I know they pick the next questions based on previous answers but when you don't take tests online it is a foreign experience. The math really isn't math just logic problems. And you can't skip questions and come back to them like I normally would in a test to conserve the most time. Ah, but its over and I will never have to take it again!

My son took it in Sept. There were two written segments, one in which he was given 30 minutes, the other 45.

Thank you both for your replies. I haven't taken any kind of test like this online.
Now, the written is "online" as well, correct?

yes all of it is online. now the essay portion is easier online since there is a back button therefore making it is easier to correct.

How's the question distribution on verbal in regards to sentence completions, reading passages, antonyms & anologies?

I'm not too sure on that. Any book that has sample tests or helps you prepare will tell you this. If you you don't want to buy, go to the book store and read it then put it back on the shelf! or they might have some at the local library depending on the size of the city.

You can get the tests off the ETS site and I have two books (don't laugh), The GRE for iIdiots & the Dummy's one. They both have different approaches to the information and they didn't put me to sleep.
I do understand the way the test will be given, haven already done a Kaplan test. My english has always been exceptional; it's the math part I don't care for so, I want to ace the verbal & get the best I can on the math.
As far as the two written, I'll just do my best.
