The mountains are beautiful from about anywhere in the city, but I personally want to be as close to the mountains as possible. The further east you go the less dramatic the views. There are some great locations near Old Colorado City. There is also a new traditional neighborhood 5 miles southeast of downtown called Spring Creek. It sits on a hill so the views of Pike's Peak, Cheyenne Mountain and the Broadmoor area are breathtaking.

Thinking back over this summer, have we had any animal news this summer? Bears, deer, mountain lions, etc.. going into homes, trees? Usually you see something but this summer I don't remember hearing anything. Have you?

We have a mama bear and her cub on our street most days and I have seen her now 3x. My neighbor sees her much more. ![]() |
