Widefield DSL? Need internet, maybe NOT Comcast?
I'm finally moving! Mid-July I'll be outta Houston (thank you Lord!) and moving to Widefield, just off and south of Fontaine.
I'm trying to get my utilities set up. So far I've gotten electric, gas, water, satellite TV (I'm using DirecTV - is this a good choice?). I'll probably use my cell phone as my only phone (single teachers don't make enough money to have two phone lines). What I don't have set up yet is internet.
In Houston we have Comcast (previously Time Warner Cable). I've heard Widefield has Comcast and Qwest. I tried for an hour yesterday to reach Comcast. Every single person I was transferred to said, "Oh, I'm sorry, you've reached the Houston Comcast office. Let me transfer you to someone in customer service who can help you." Then, sure enough, the next person they transferred me to was - you guessed it - another Houston customer service person. And it went round and round. Which makes me wonder if Comcast's customer service is any good. Maybe I should try Qwest (am I spelling this right?). Does anyone have any other ideas? Thank you.
