Any thoughts on doing a complete fence line replacement in november and if there are any companies that would do it and do good work? The fence at my house is original to the property (1986) and is leaning and falling apart at places. I'd wait until the spring, but my ever determined puppy proved to me that he can clear the 5 ft section of my fence with the help of the previous owners landscaping. Rather than tear my hair out over the winter preventing further escapes, I'd rather replace the whole thing with a 6' fence sooner than later

I don't see any problem with it. Ground is not frozen and it should not be a problem.

I need a new fence too. Let me know what you find out. There is someone on craigslist posting $16/linear ft.

I had the fence replaced by Summit Fence. The guys were super nice to the neighbors and their kids, as well as my dogs, which they didn't mind being alone with in the backyard while they were working on the fence. They had it done in 4 days and I have 270' of fence line. It cost me $4830 to redo the entire fence with 3 support beams instead of the 2 there was before and a reinforced gate with 2 locks. I have no idea if that's a lot of money, because the other 3 companies I called to get quotes from to compare either never called me back or failed to show up as promised. The fence is also "insured" for the first year should something happen.
