Na, da bin ich aber froh!
I'm glad to hear that ;-)
Are there some Germans meeting around here somewhere? I am new to the Springs. Moved here about 6 weeks ago from MI. Would be nice to meet some people von "daheim"

Hallo, bin auch noch relativ neu hier in COS.
I'm also relatively new to COS.
I'd also be interested to find out if there are German meetings or clubs around here. Or is there anything for newcomers to the area in general? My kids are both teenagers and I'm looking for people who are not necessarily only meeting with their little ones

Punica, if no one comes forward with new info, best suggestion I have is for you to call these two local German restaurants for whatever advice they may have for you about connecting with locals from Germany / Europe:
- Edelweiss
- Uwe's

Default Swiss Clubs

Well, there is the Swiss Club of Colorado Springs... (search for it on Facebook) and there is the Swiss/American Friends Club in Denver Swiss-American Friendship Society. Anyone interested in the Swiss culture or European culture is welcome. Also, you could contact your German Embassy/Consulate for a list of local German clubs/groups.

On 7/30 and 7/31 the 4th Annual German Fest Denver 2011 will take place. I have an email message/info about this event which I could forward to you if you want. If so, please Direct Message me with your email address.

Tschuess!

Let me add one location to the mix. Wimberger's Bakery is an authentic German Bakery/Deli. It's on Bott Avenue, parallel to US 24 and a block South, near 25th Street. Lots of German spoken behind the deli counter. I'm sure they'll be able to point you in the right direction. [Plus, the food is terrific.]
