Does that house on Mesa Rd. still go all out for Christmas? I know it was a big deal for years with cars clogging up Mesa every night from Thanksgiving to New Years.

For our first Christmas in Colorado Springs, we were actually able to march in the parade. We just adopted a greyhound and we were part of the the Colorado Greyhound Association group that had about 40 dogs in the parade all decked out in their holiday finery. Had a blast. Doing things like this, particularly during the holiday season, make us feel like we're really becoming part of the community. For those who complain that there's nothing to do in this town, they are wrong. In the two months we've been in town we've done silly (coffin races in Manitou), wholesome (Festival of Lights), high brow (CS Philharmonic), the arts (Tim Davis' photo studio and open house and Peter Marchand's photo show and reception), fine dining (the Famous), brewpubs (Phantom Canyon and BJ's), funky (Poor Richards and several other bistros and holes-in-the wall). So far, lovin' it here in the Springs...

Default Computerized Christmas Lights

If you want to see large displays that are computer controlled and synced to music. Check out the 'Light Tour' page on Colorado Christmas website. There are a half dozen houses or so listed that all do computerized Christmas Displays.

The Flying W's Christmas show is pretty neat. I went to it every year I was there.

check out today's (Dec 16) Gazette on-line. They list a lot of neighborhoods, including the specific streets/blocks where the best Christmas lights are on display.

I forgot to mention the Electric Safari. That's a fun one for the kids as well.

We went to the Church of the Nazarene (Fountain and Academy) tonight for their drive through light show, it was free and pretty good. I loved that they put the children's names on a paper and use a magnet to put it on the car, as you drove through the characters called the children by name. My daughter loved it when Santa said her name!
