Ok in 3 weeks I will be driving to Colorado Springs from baltimore with my toddler
,gona visit a friend and probly end up staying there if we like it (I have a feeling we will). So I have been researching the drive, checking into jobs and homes and all that good stuff. My only problem is trying to find good places to stay along the way and of course we will have to stop to my son can stretch himself out some and get a little movement. IF ANYONE KNOWS OR HAS AN IDEA PLEASEA PLEASE let me know. THANKS |

We made that trip in June 2005.
Drive is about 1650 or so miles. We broke it into 3 days of driving, about 550 miles per day, spending night one in the area of Indianapolis, IN; night two near Topeka, KS and night 3 we were here in COL SPGS. Some road warriors would do that in two days of 800+ miles per day, but that is a lot of driving. Pushing that many miles a day is okay for some, but not us. Never driven with a toddler, but assume you will be stopping often. Take I-70 out of Baltimore, you can stay on it all the way to Limon, CO, within 50 miles of COL SPGS, then you come in Hwy 24 from Limon. Map it with mapquest. Good motels are about $100.00 per night and most will have a free breakfast for you. |
