Default Resolved?

I'm now having the exact same problem as McGowdog and dpitts (I am also in the Peyton area). I am going to see if my house has a perimeter drain so I can apply dpitts solution. I've also noticed a lot of clay around and in my basement window well.

Is there any way to find out if you have a perimeter drain system and where that might run? Would the homebuilder (Classic Homes) have this information?

That is how I found out about where my perimeter system was. Our house was built in 1999 by Campbell Homes. Although the house was out of warranty and i was not even the original owner, they sent a warranty repair inspector and he new everything about the way our hose was constructed. Contact the builder they will probably help you. If you need a plumber with experience with this sort of thing. Email me directly at dpitts@ese-web.com Good luck with your leak.

Takes about 30 minutes to adjust, and it really helps if two people do it.

Thanks, these covers would work well enough for me, and the price is right.

Thanks, Joe

I also had the same problem on a house a few years ago. All I did was dug out a trench all the way around the window wells then I use a cemment caulk and sealed the metal to house since there was a big gap there. For more reassurrance I put plastic sheets (8mil) around the window wells and extended about 6 feet on both sides to make sure they covered the whole area. For the next 2 years i didn't have that problem again but who knows how long it would work with proper irrigation.
