Thank you Charles.
How many times must we put stupid myths about evangellicals to rest, I'm running out of fingers & toes to count on.... s/Mike ![]() |

OK. I know not everyone in the Springs in an evangelical nut job and I've known great people from there, but they do seem to control the political climate down there. Every time anything progressive happens in Denver (such as earlier this year when it became legal for same sex couples to both be legal parents to their children), the opposition always comes from CS.
I also get sick of Focus being quoted in the paper and news on things like this as some moral authority that represents the entire state. They don't, and they should be treated like the far-right religious extrimist loons they are. |

Looks like a great group! Thanks for the link. As a gay parent here in Denver, I feel very comfortable and have awesome support from neighbors and schools. Would I have that in CS? It always seems like (maybe just my perception) that in Colorado, it's always the evangelicals in CS who are trying to make my life more miserable, rather than expanding my rights. My guess is they're a minority with a loud voice. |

So, are you saying that just because somebody else has a different opinion than you, they are a moron? Or even a group of people have a different opinion than you, they are ALL moron's? I think any group of people that says publicly how they feel is giving me a different perspective. I am always open to a different perspective, I may not have heard that perspective if it wasn't talked about publicly. I don't always agree with how other people feel about issues. But I do "respect" their decision. I guess I just feel that everybody has a right to their own opinions and you can agree to disagree. That is the beauty of living in the U.S.. I just don't feel it is fair to call people names just because they don't have the same opinion as you. just my thoughts though....

On the other hand, I'm not trying to rally people and sponsor legislation to deny evangelicals their rights. I say live and let live. They apparently don't see it that way. |

I guess I just feel at the end of the day it boils down to the votes and everybody has a "right" as to how "they" want to vote. Nobody is standing in the booth with them telling them what to do or forcing them to vote a certain way. Just that person in the booth by themselves voting, nobody will ever know how they voted....

This thread is way too long, I/we should probably have closed it sooner.
Thanks to everyone for their input. s/Mike |
