Default Help finding a new home

I have searched the web and realtor.com and cannot find what I am looking for, and maybe that is because it does not exist, or perhaps the small independent builders are not listed in the MLS.

Is it possible to buy a new home anywhere in the Colorado Springs area for $175,000 or LESS?

I would appreciate your input and if I am out of luck I will search in other areas for a place to retire. I want a single family home and not a condo.

Thanks
Greg

I have access to most of the builders here in C/S. From what I could find, you are probably looking at a Richmond home. If you go on their website, keep in mind that they will have incentives that they don't show on their website which can bring the cost of the house down to your price range. With fall hitting, those incentive will go up too. Let me know if you want more info.. Best of luck! Colorado Springs is Gorgreous! bashep

jwo311 is on a distinguished road
A neighborhood that many people do not consider is Spring Creek. It is a ~300 Acre traditional neighborhood development designed by the founding New Urbanism Firm DPZ out of Miami. Surprisingly this neighborhood has remained in that "affordable" level offering single-family homes from about $165,000 to $300,000. What makes it so unique is the variety of home styles and types all interconnected in a very pedestrian friendly enviornment. There is also a neighborhood retail aspect to it that it proposed to be similar to the old neighborhoods built pre world war II. There is a great variety of residents ranging from single young professionals to a large number of retired folk.

I don't know how you feel about townhomes, but the Beazer townhomes are built VERY nice. I hope that this helps.

Spring Creek is located 5 minutes southeast of downtown between Union and Circle south of Hwy 24/ Fountain Street.

Greg, I there are homes for less than 200,000 in Co springs. They just are a little less than desireable. I found nice homes for 225k everywhere. I used Remax.com in my search and finally just went there, its only a 14 hour drive from your house.
