I've always wondered what that was! For the last four years my husband and I venture to the Springs for the 4th of July to get out of the Kansas heat and get away from the everyday riff-raff we deal with. We've both observed that noticeable brown line from most of the attractions/communities that place it in our line of sight. We were just there last weekend with our oldest son for spring break, and all he wanted to do was "climb things." Oh, how I wish we'd known ...

Legalized After Long Climb! | Manitou Incline

My question is where is everyone going to park? Im the past I parked at the iron mountain chateau (or whatever it's called). But this past summer it was all closed off. Maybe a shuttle from the other public parking lots in manitou springs?

There's a parking lot at the Barr Trail trailhead...also a couple of small lots below the Cog. (all $5) Parking along Ruxton will go to meters...there are also free lots down into Manitou with a free shuttle to the Incline later in the year. I get there at 6:30am and there's plenty of parking. lol

I used to do the incline every tuesday when I was in the Army. Back then it was illegal but unenforced. Right around when I got out, they started enforcing it. I'll probably attempt it again when I visit in May.
