Default Actual / Current Example....

El Paso County, aka Colorado Springs. House price $555,000. Taxes $3250. Rate is approx 6/10 of 1% of sales price.

Check with El Paso County for exact rate info, see:

Property taxes in Colo Spgs are generally very low. In the districts that I've lived in, it has been 0.6% to 0.8%

Check out http://land.elpasoco.com/ for specific information -- you can enter any address in El Paso County and view details, including assessed market value and property taxes

Property taxes are much lower in Colorado Springs (El Paso County) than they are in Teller County (Up in mountains). I am paying less (by 1/2) for my 195K CS house than I did for my 130K mountain house.

Default Property Taxes

I realize all areas and school districts are different even within the same town. Could someone give me rough estimates of property taxes in the Colorado Springs area.
IE what would the taxes be on a $200,000 home.
Thanks

Go to this page:

EPC PROPERTY SEARCH, Assessor Office, El Paso County, CO

Type in anyone's last name.

Click on the "Estimated Property Tax" hyperlink

It looks like it is around 0.73511% so around $1460 for a $200K Home????

I just moved here and my house has already been reassessed, so I'm not totally sure.

By the way, I am in D38, Lewis-Palmer so I think it depends on the district like you wrote???

Here's tax info for a SFH rental we had while ours was being built. It sold new in April 2005 for $180k.
Sale Information, Assessor's Office, El Paso County, CO

Taxes are about $1000.00 per year on that house, built by Richmond-American, in the Glen Eagles area, zip 80921, school district 20 (D20), rated among the best. I think you'll find some new homes here in the $200k range.
