I was just wondering if anyone had any opinions about D2 schools. I know everyone talks highly about D11, D12 and D20 and just wondered about D2. Seems like the high school has some problems and I'm wondering what are they (teachers, area, poverty, etc) any expeierences with these school other than hear say as well.

This school district serves the lowest socio-economic population of colorado springs. The crime rate is the highest in the area and I venturing to say that all COS community member would say it is our "ghetto". That doesn't mean that they don't have wonderful teachers, however, the classroom/social experience for your child/children will be different than that when compared to other schools.
Of course, that doesn't mean that other school disctricts don't have issues. However I don't think many will be surprised or shocked when they hear about kids/families in crisis. My best of luck to you and your decision. We all know that if any child has a drive, that awesome motivation, that anything is possible in any circumstance!! |
