Default Commute From Colorado Springs to Florence

I am looking at several job opportunities in the Denver and Colorado Springs areas. Interestingly, I have found an opportunity in Florence.

Per Google Maps, the drive is about 40 miles (or 55 minutes) to Florence from COS. Is this accurate? (I imagine winter conditions would significantly affect this commute). Does anybody commute to this area from COS? Can anybody comment on the condition of Highway 115?

Thanks very much for your help.

You know, I don't know if I have paid attention to the drive. But I would venture to say that in good weather it would be a 1hr commute. However, don't quote me on that. Just not sure I would want that commute in the winter. I would say that it depends on what part of Colorado Springs you live in. From the south, that would be accurate. But definitely not from the North end of town.

Just drove it today. Not a bad drive, unless there is a lot of slow traffic (I missed that today), or when it's storming in winter. Personally, if I were working in Florence, I'd live in Florence or Canon City--both are nice communities.

I made a comment somewhere (too lazy to look it up) about the commute from Cañon City to C Springs (Downtown) and I am guessing about 45 minutes.

Cañon City is a bit bigger than Florence and has a lot of opportunities for housing. I haven't been to Florence in ages but a recent article in The Denver Post (within the last oh 4 months) said that it's a town that is nice and is flourishing but it's still stuck in the 70s (from what I remember).

I personally wouldn't want to do the commute up 115 I would just rather live in the local area (which I might be doing, I am going back and forth between Cañon City and Grand Junction) and see C Springs as a way to get away from smaller town life.
