Okay so I moved here about a year ago, but we didn't spend last summer here! What is their for my kids to do in the summer. They are used to MN and FL so we were either always near a lake or ocean! They are going nuts as am I!

We love in the North end of town. Air Force Academy! Where can they swim? Are their any beaches. We are not big on public pools since they are always so packed, but are there any? What about a splash park or something?

What do you do for fun here in the summer?

Hiking, camping, fishing, geocaching - go get up in the beautiful mountains - swim in those ice cold mountain lakes/streams! But yes, there are public pools. I think Uncle Wilbur is opening soon, and there are a few other splash things around, but I don't know where they all are.

The things I do with my kids over the summer:

-library
-cheyenne mt zoo
-go to any park- we really like Shooks Run Park and America the Beautiful park
-go hiking or camping
-we have a small pool we fill up and that they can play in
-Uncle Wilbur's fountain, as was mentioned, is also a big favorite
-Florissant Fossil Beds- only $3
-Starsmore Discovery Center
-Helen Hunt Falls
-Pioneer's Museum
-Western Museum of Mining
-Dinosaur Museum in WP (I've heard it's more expensive than it's worth, however)
-Garden of the Gods
-Bear Creek Park nature center

I don't know how old your kids are, or their interest- as you can see my kids love nature and being outside. There's a good skate park at Memorial Park.

Pueblo reservoir I think has some beach type (?) not sure on that. Prospect Lake by where you live has some activities, as does Rampart Reservoir.
