Well I made my trip out to The Springs and fell in love with the place. I wish I could say the same about the job situation. I fell in love with so much I am thinking about moving out there when my lease is up and move out there with out a job. I will have about 2100 saved up but no car. I know I am crazy I can probably stay in a Extended Stay hotel for the first month but I will need to get a job. I will need a full time job, can anybody recommended a place to stay that is walking distance of full time jobs. Or I am just crazy in thinking of moving out there. I loved how my asthma didn't act up once when I stayed out there. So where are the full time jobs? King Soopers told I will need to start off part time and work towards full time. My seniority will not transfer over. I work 2 part time jobs now I don't want to do that again.

That's awesome that you fell in love with The Springs. Unfortunately, you usually cannot have your cake and eat it too- meaning, you love it so much that you want to move without a job, yet you also don't want to have to work 2 PT jobs again. If it really felt like the place you want to be, wouldn't you be willing to bite the bullet and work 2 PT jobs until one brings you on full-time? You'll probably have to make a compromise somewhere

Well that is good that you loved it here but $2100 and no car, you are not going to get very far.
Jobs are hard to come by and now any min wage job, part time ones, non skilled jobs are being taken by kids out of school.
You may be out of work for months. Granted I am farther up North but my son applied for jobs from Greeley all the way down to Denver after he was laid off. Any and every thing he could find he applied for so did at least 20 others and it took him 7 months to get a steady job.
My friend has been out of work for about a year now. She has lots of office experience, computer, retail, etc and cannot get more then some temp work here and there, lost her apt and had to move back in with her mom, she is 37 years old.

Job should be your first priority, then find a place nearby if it is a good area where you can walk or take a bus.

There are lots of places I love I just can't live there due to cost, or jobs, or because it is a nice place to visit but I would not want to live there...Florida comes to mind with that one.

There are many jobs in the Springs with the Federal Government because it has many installations. Why do you not check with the Office of Personnel Management. Have you not thought of these jobs???
US Office of Personnel Management

you search for jobs from here

USAJOBS - The Federal Government's Official Jobs Site

Here is a current list of jobs in CS, sorted by lower to higher pay.

I have to agree with the others in that you won't make it very far with only $2100 and no car!

I totally understand you falling in love with it here and wanting to move. We moved here from TX about 6 weeks ago because we were in love. We sold our house, I changed jobs, my son is starting a new school, etc. It's ALL worth it and we don't regret the decision one bit. I love my new job and my son really liked his new school school (he only had a couple weeks left before they let out for summer, but couldn't stop talking about how nice the kids are!)

Try looking at indeed.com for jobs. That's how I found mine. Good luck!!

Where is your son going to school? Just curious. Most schools could use all the good press they can get!
