Just wondering if anyone would have any info/description on what a library aide would do?

I applied for a library aide position at a Colorado Springs elementary school, but there was no job description...so I've just been trying to find out some info online. I don't figure it's anything too complicated. I'm organized, computer literate, detail-oriented...etc.

Also, I know interviews can vary greatly....anything specific questions I should prepare for? I already have past teaching experience.

Thanks for any help!

That could vary a lot; in our high school library aides do everything from book check out, tutoring, hooking up computers, installing software, circulation desk, managing student aides, monitoring/running a computer lab, handling textbook rebinds and loss obligations, etc. In elementary maybe you would run reading groups as well.

You could also be testing students with Accelerated Reader (AR), STAR testing, Renaissance, etc...

Ask for a job description. Otherwise, you'll be up a creek about what your duties are. They could be anything and everything.

I was a library volunteer for several years at my kids' school. We took the kids to the library, helped them pick out books, checked them out; checked other books in; reshelved books and so on.
