How close/far away is it from town to 'real' forests, like nothing but trees as far as the eye can see?

Well, for example, you can hit steady forest really quick up the Paul Intemann trail by Bear Creek Park. Or, any of the trails in North Cheyenne Canyon. Or, Cheyenne Mountain State Park, etc.

Hmmm. I was thinking of being deeper in and it takes 10 minutes of hiking at least on most trails. Though even in Red Rocks Canyon you can feel like you are miles away from everything, in short order.
