Hello All
I recently moved here to the springs, living with my brother until i find my own place & a job. I have been driving around and getting familiar with the area but feeling sort of lost.... I am 29, single girl. I want to live somewhere that has that colorado feel, outdoor stuff to do in my back yard. I dont really like the feel of the suburbs directly in my face, yet I dont want to drive more than 20 minutes from everything I need, including work. I dont know where to start looking, safety is obvioulsy important to me. any suggestions? thanks!

Look up around 30th Street / Centennial Blvd. It'll be near / close enough to Garden of Gods, Old Colorado City, Manitou Springs and downtown. Lots of apartments up there. Check padmapper.com

I second that! I live in that neighborhood and I love it. I live near Centennial/GOG road and the wildlife is awesome, deer all over the place, even the occasional bear.

You don't say what area of town you work in, which would be helpful, but I think you'll find that no matter where you end up, most commutes within the Pikes Peak region are not too crazy.

The westside and Manitou are nice (and safe), laid-back and not "suburby" feeling, with lots of close-in trailheads and wildlife and a small-town feel.
