Doesn't look like that great of a place from Google Street View.

My MIL lives in the Oasis apartments off Filmore/Centenial, it's a nice complex. She pays $975 for a 2 bedroom, 1 bath, and attached garage. There is another complex, Riatio Heights, a few blocks from there, that also looks nice.

I know people who live in an apartment complex close to the apartments your talking about, and this is a neighborhood on the Southeast side of town. I can't break down the crime stats by neighborhood, but it is one of the more high crime areas in the city. I never feel in danger/unsafe when I'm down in the area, however, thats not the case for everyone I know. So as far as safe location, it's probably not what your looking for. The schools are some of the lower ranked ones in the city too, although again, from personal experience I know people in the area and their kids have no problems. If that's your criteria, I would consider a different area. You have zip codes like 80918 and 80919, and those are both much better areas. Cost is probably more, but there is probably apartments with 2bedrooms and 2 baths in that 600-900 price range.

Do look for better areas. We have frequent poster who lives in the S.E. area and says it's fine, but that area of town is almost always the part of town where too many bad things happen.
