We might be moving to a rental off Teller 1 between Cripple Creek and Florissant, just waiting to see if we are accepted. I was curious who provides gas and electric services out that way, as the house does not have a propane tank. Also who provides trash/waste services, and can you get a residential dumpster that is "wildlife" proof? Another question would be schools as my oldest is in 7th and my youngest is in Kindergarten. I think they would go to Cripple Creek, but does anyone know anything about that schools and if Kindergarten is all day or 1/2 day, as well as are there any daycare type providers in the area?

Sorry for all the questions! Hopefully someone from that area can give us some must know info.

Thanks,

Mary

The two school districts in Teller County have websites
Cripple Creek Schools - Cripple Creek School District | Home
Woodland Park Schools - Woodland Park School District
Woodland Park district includes Florissant, so you could be in either one. The boundary along County 1 roughly coincides with the south boundary of Florissant Fossil Beds.

Electricity is probably Intermountain Rural Electric - Intermountain Rural Electric Association
Natural Gas, if available, will be Colorado Natural Gas - Colorado Natural Gas
Trash pickup may be supplied by a homeowners association, or you may have a choice of providers. It is best to check with neighbors. If you need a quote, call Waste Management in Divide - (719) 687-9603.

And after a rough day of working all this out, stop in at Costello Street Coffee House in Florissant for hot chocolate, tea, or coffee, and a desert to unwind. It is expensive, but cheaper than therapy.

Seems like your landlord/landlady or property manager could answer a lot of your questions. Have you asked them?

I second the coffee house suggestion but do with they'd lower prices on a few items. While you're sitting there enjoy your coffee, start asking questions and hopefully (especially this time of year), you'll meet a few locals that can give you some answers.

Go to the Teller County assessor's web site, do a Physical Address search for your home, scroll down to the bottom and you'll see Property tax information. You can also search by Owner Name if you know who it is. That will tell you which school district you are in. Then you can use Arrby's links to the school district for information.
