Bart Simpson can sum up that video in TWO WORDS.

No thanks....that'll only help feed the stereotype of COS as a haven for hardcore right-wing evangelical nut jobs. Let's move away from that.

Perhaps "America The Beautiful Starts Here."

PERFECT!!!! With a graphic of Pikes Peak! How grand this slogan would be.

I wonder if the city can stop payment on their $111,000 check? Well, at least now maybe the powers that be, know how it feels to be robbed blindly by someone you put your faith and vote for??? What were they thinking? Who made the final choice; our new mayor? Why were they in such a hurry to throw money away??????

There's a Facebook group now called Colorado Springs - Live It Up. But they seem mostly to be just a bunch of rather sarcastic younger people who make snide comments, rather than make many constructive comments or suggestions.

Kinda reminds me of back in 1996 when Matsush1ta Electric hired a big name ad agency to bring out a North American campaign for their new personal internet computer.

The ad agency licensed the likeness of Woody Woodpecker and built an expensive campaign, which was abruptly cancelled the day before it was to launch.

The slogan--"Touch Woody, the internet pecker"

Unlike "Live it up" at least that one would've gotten some laughs.

I for one think CS is in dire need of help as to how the rest of the country views us, thanks to a LOT of bad publicity over the years. I'm glad this rebranding thing is happening - we need it. Yes, perhaps there are other taglines that would be better, but you would be surprised at how many of the good ones are taken. I know personally how hard the folks at the CVB worked on this project over a long period of time. It's not an easy or painless process - in the end, I see the benefits and hope that CS will stop being a city that is viewed with a lot of derision around the country. We who live here know the realities of how wonderful it is here, but a lot of others don't, and that's what we need to combat ... the way we have been viewed for many years.
