We've decided to sit back and let someone else feed us for Thanksgiving dinner this year.

Aside from the free dinners that happen all over town, does anyone have suggestions for good Thanksgiving feasts, preferably at prices that won't break the bank?

Gazette has a list of ten places, and I know that Ted's Montana Grill in the shops at Briargate will also be open. Have eaten there a few times on Thanksgiving and they serve all the usual menu plus a turkey dinner.

How about your local church or AA group?

"How about your local church or AA group?"

Well, like I said ... aside from the free dinners. We've done the town hall dinner in Manitou Springs many times, and it's a fun and interesting experience - just don't want to do it this time around. Thanks for that list, Mike. The dude ranch sounds like something fun and different, so we may check that out.

The only time we didn't do home cooking for Thanksgiving was years ago and we went to the long gone Hungry Farmer lol. Now whenever I think of that place I think of the Texas 7 for some reason.

Default Turkey Day

Ha!

Funny you should mention the Hungry Farmer ... I'm thinking about going to a 32nd reunion of musicians that used to jam there. But yeah, I vaguely remember something about the Texas 7 and the HF. Also that motel in Woodland Park was part of that scene.

Mackenzies Chop House has a special menu for T-Day. And I'd check if Springs Orleans is doing anything.

We are getting our meal from the grocery store- first year I haven't had home cooked! But circumstances are forcing it on me, I'll let you know if it's any good.

The linked Gazette article does list Mackenzie's Chop house and Springs Orleans as doing some meals. All of them were pretty expensive, for me.

We are new to the Woodland Park/ Divide area and were wondering if any “local” restaurants were hosting a Thanksgiving Buffet. All I find thus far is the Swiss Chalet. Is anyone aware of any others?
