I'm very curious & concerned... how much snow did the Springs received in the last 2 weeks ?

How many inches are there still on the ground/roads ?

Thanks

We've received varying amounts depending on where you are in town. Most places probably have several inches on the ground right now. Major roads are clear, but side streets may still be snowpacked.
It will all be gone next week, most likely. Snow tends not to stay around very long.

In downtown (near the Penrose hospital on Nevada Ave) we have about 5 or so inches on the ground. Sun's out and evaporation/melting has commenced.

Up on the Palmer Divide (east of hwy 83) I have about 2.5 feet on the ground, combination of snow from a week ago and from a few days ago. Dirt roads here are cleared now, but may have some snow and ice packed in places. Paved roads up here are clear. Our snow will not melt here for a while unless we have a nice streak of warm weather (which is not that unusual), and with this much on the ground it MAY be around until about May in the shaded places. Luckily we did not get wind with this snow, or we would have 5 foot drifts!

In Security we got about 5 inches both times. The residential streets are still snow packed, but business roads are mostly clear, although there is water on them that will freeze at night. We do not get plowing on the roads. I don't see what there is to be concerned about, though, for most of us, thank God. A little snow doesn't hurt if you have a roof over your head, a winter jacket, and drive sensibly.

Up here on Austin Bluffs we got about 5 inches. Rather nice snowfall. The significant roads and street are very passable today. I went out to the grocery store yesterday morning, and while I wouldn't have wanted to drive very far, it was okay.
