Yeah, just rent for 6-12 months and see if it works out.

No traffic, cheap housing, and low taxes make Colorado Springs more appealing than Denver to me. Don't get me wrong, I love visting Denver for DIA, shopping, and sporting events. But glad I don't have to deal with all of those people on a daily basis.

Monument or Castle Rock might work for you. You need to come out for 3 days and scope it out.

I would look to rent closer to where your wife will be working to start. Once you've been here awhile you will decide where it is you really want to be long term and then can make that move. Even if it means more of a commute for one or the other. That is what we did. At least this way you will feel as if you at least gave it a shot!
