I found another nice townhome that is looking for a rooommate in University Park near the Pikes Peak Library District. That's still well outside downtown, so I'm guessing it will hold many of the same prospects as Black Forest.

University Park area is closer to town than Black Forest is. You will at least have some groceries, stores and restaurants nearby. Its a nice area, and closer to the night life scene in downtown. Sounds like you are kind of looking for a temporary place anyway as you scout out the area you want to make more permanent, so I would not fret too much about finding the perfect place to start.

The Pikes Peak Library District is a huge area, do you mean a particular library?

I've locked up a temporary place to live while in transition on a month-to-month basis. It's located near Powers and Woodmen, directly west (behind) the VillaSport Athletic Club and Spa. Looks like a nice little neighborhood. It's about a 8-9 mile trek to work, but that's not bad at all.

It will allow me time to get familiar with Colorado Springs and wait for a really nice apartment to open up at a property I really like, perhaps Resort at University Park (from the Internet, it appears like a great place.)
